These trigger guards are great. My wife is comfortable carrying her G-26 in her purse now....
VanGuard 2 - Lanyard Kit
The VanGuard 2 is a minimalist IWB holster. Unlike traditional IWB holsters, the VG2 covers only the trigger guard of your weapon. This unique design eliminates the bulk of a traditional holster, while providing a level of safety and security not attainable by simply sticking a pistol in the waistband of your pants.
This item is the lanyard kit only. Each VG2 holster shell will come with a 24" length of braided nylon cord. This kit functions just like the Original VanGuard. We are also offering three-packs at a discount. This is a great option to keep a VG2 everywhere you might need one. You can always upgrade a VG2 shell into the full IWB holster kit by ordering a VG2 Strut Kitshould you want to in the future.
The VanGuard 2 can be used multiple ways:
First, it can be used (without the lanyard or the strut and soft-loop assembly) as a trigger guard cover for storage and transportation safety. This prevents foreign objects from finding their way inside the trigger guard and potentially pressing the trigger, while still allowing the slide to be cycled and the magazine released. This gives users the ability to clear the weapon without the danger of a negligent discharge.
Next, it can be used with the static-line tether for on-body (IWB) or off-body carry (such as inside a bag, purse, briefcase, vehicle console, etc). This allows the weapon to be safely carried with a chambered round without fear of a negligent discharge, while still being rapidly deployable. The holster can also be removed by catching the nose of the holster and prying it off. This allows one-hand deployment of the weapon even if the tether or attachment point fails to remove the holster.
Finally, the user can attach the strut and soft-loop assembly to create a stable, secure, IWB holster. The complete system is fully adjustable for ride-height and cant, is tuckable for maximum concealment, and fully ambidextrous. Please be aware, we do not advise attempting to re-holster the weapon while the VG2 is inside your clothing. You should remove the VG2 and install it on the weapon outside of your waistband.

I have had several hard kydex trigger guard holsters and all have eventually failed (lost tension due to cracking). The material this is made of appears to be more supple and durable than hard kydex and will hopefully outlast the others. The VG2 snaps positively in place and fits the contours of my G17, G19, and G26 perfectly. This is used for Every Day Carry in the appendix position and is the best solution I have found so far. Yes, I do have a collection of conventional holsters that rare never used as this VG2 has replaced them all.
Great simple solution. Combine it with an Ulticlip or other clip for a slim CC option or use it with the lanyard under the car seat or night stand. I bought a 3 pack and it was a good decision.
clips on nicely, guards the trigger well
I recently bought this for my concealed carrying uses. And it is perfect! It's small enough that it doesn't get in the way. But it's big enough I still feel safe that it will protect my trigger
This product is so simple, so effective and so affordable. Glock should buy these and provide one with every gun! I will never need a full sized holster again. I have carried for 20 years in the 4 0'clock position on the back of my right hip over my wallet and I have never found a holster worth it's price. When I switched to the Glock 19, I could no long carry the gun "naked" inside the waistband because of the lack of a positive safety and the pointy trigger safety which could easily hang up on clothing while being inserted and shoot my butt off. This minimalist holster has fixed that problem for me. Just hook the lanyard to my belt, clip it on the gun and insert in the waistband. When I draw the gun it comes off automatically and hangs there ready to re-attach, when I need it. Amazing product!
The Vanguard 2 does its job, which is to protect the trigger. I use it to carry a Glock 17 IWB daily (yes, the gun stays in place and is so comfortable that I forget it is there) as well as inside of a gym bag. Even if not used as a primary holster, it makes a great addition to any holster collection as a bag, bedside, glovebox/center console option, or for those times when you have to go walk the dog or pick up some milk and don't feel like putting on a larger holster. Overall, you can't go wrong, especially for the price.
The Vanguard holster is an excellent, minimalist design. Great for use in bags and other containers.
Great for off body carry , backpacking keeps trigger protected. Great for the nightstand.I also use the full kit for appendix carry. Great way to protect the trigger better than any universal holster . Would love it if they made it for the shield .
I first bought a few of these after seeing a review online (Falia Leigh recommendation)... so I decided to try a few. I use them in a few situations. When the gun is unloaded, in a safe, I have one on the gun. That way I keep track of them - one for each one I own. If I am going to use it later, I remove it with the gun, otherwise leave it in the safe. It's great for use in a small handgun safe or glovebox with other items ... anything that might get in the trigger guard. In a pack, I can secure the bottom of the lanyard somewhere (or just use my own paracord lanyard and a small clip to clip to the end)... and when drawing the weapon, the vanguard comes free (takes a bit of a positive force, but easy enough). I have used it in another concealed compartment where very rapid access is not required - just a basic band holster that covers the trigger guard.... this thing will slip into the holster, so you have to remove the firearm, then remove the guard. This little guard is well designed - there is a flare on the left side that keeps the magazine release from being depressed.... well, I suppose something still could, but it would be VERY difficult. It stays put once you put it on. Removes easily. Black is nice for a basic color, might be fun in a brighter color - like orange if you store it with a gun in a glovebox - that's not quick access, but you see that it is secure. I have tried the belt loop with it - the single attachment on the belt loop with this device makes the loop deform somewhat, so it's hard to draw and get the vanguard to release.... if you use it this way (as it's own concealed holster system), then you will want a STURDY belt to get it to release. I don't use it this way, so I can't really give you more than that. I love the idea that I can put this on the handgun, secure the lanyard in a pack or glovebox, and then I know nothing is going to move that trigger. It fits all my GEN4 pistols (G17,19,20,21,22,23,26,27) nifty product - does what I expect, works great.
