I dont normally write reviews but the Vanguard 2 is hands down the best holster for concealed carry. I’m 6’, 180lbs and wear slim fit jeans and shirts. Ive bought a ton of holsters searching for “the one”. I picked up a Vanguard 2 for my G43 and it was perfect. The vanguard does not add any thickness to the weapon and keeps the pistol high and tight without any movement. It absolutely disappears even under slim fitting T-shirts. I was so happy with the vanguard 2 that i picked up a second Vanguard 2 in Coyote for my Glock 19 and again it absolutely is my favorite holster. I can now easily and comfortably conceal Carry my G19 as easily as my G43. I carry around the 3:00 position and This little holster is truly amazing. And the price is right. I sent an email late night asking about loops/overhooks and received a reply Answering my question the following morning. My order was also shipped out in less than 24 hours and I had it in my mailbox 2 days later.... during covid! Great product and great company and customer service.
VanGuard 2 - Coyote Brown Overhook
VanGuard 2 Basic Kit in Coyote Brown fits Glock Gen 3, Gen 4 and Gen 5. (will not fit the G42 or G43)
The VanGuard 2 is a minimalist IWB holster. Unlike traditional IWB holsters, the VG2 covers only the trigger guard of your weapon. This unique design eliminates the bulk of a traditional holster, while providing a level of safety and security not attainable by simply sticking a pistol in the waistband of your pants.
The VanGuard 2 can be used multiple ways:
First, it can be used (without the lanyard or the strut and over hook assembly) as a trigger guard cover for storage and transportation safety. This prevents foreign objects from finding their way inside the trigger guard and potentially pressing the trigger, while still allowing the slide to be cycled and the magazine released. This gives users the ability to clear the weapon without the danger of a negligent discharge.
Next, it can be used with the static-line tether for on-body (IWB) or off-body carry (such as inside a bag, purse, briefcase, vehicle console, etc). This allows the weapon to be safely carried with a chambered round without fear of a negligent discharge, while still being rapidly deployable. The holster can also be removed by catching the nose of the holster and prying it off. This allows one-hand deployment of the weapon even if the tether or attachment point fails to remove the holster.
Finally, the user can attach the strut and over hook assembly to create a stable, secure, IWB holster. The complete system is fully adjustable for ride-height and cant, is tuckable for maximum concealment, and fully ambidextrous. Please be aware, we do not advise attempting to re-holster the weapon while the VG2 is inside your clothing. You should remove the VG2 and install it on the weapon outside of your waistband.
I bought the advanced kit and the Coyote Vanguard 2. I attached one of the claws to it and use it on my 19x and the black one on my 44. It fits tightly around the trigger guard, so your gun is secure and not coming out of your waistband. No printing except from the gun itself. It’s about as close as you can get to having no holster. The only possible downside is having to remove the holster to reholster after drawing. It is quick though and I don’t mind doing it to be safe. However if you’re training in a class you might want to use something else for the day. This is a good holster and I would recommend it to anybody. I will almost definitely buy another one for my next glock.
I have been a Raven Concealment Systems customer since day one. I have already reviewed the Vanguard. This one in FDE is just as high quality of course but a little different. I have a lot of Glocks, and use the FDE vs. Black to quickly ID between my 40cal and 9mm guns. I like the overhook attachment point more than the snap strap, but either is a solid mount and I have worn both considerably and in high physical activities like Craig Douglas' ECQC courses, ground fighting, and duty. It is a very solid lock up to the trigger guard with 100% trigger protection which is the PRIMARY role of a holster, and wether over hook or strap, the holster stays put. Probably not a primary holster for most people in most applications, but should be a part of most people's options for carry depending on the situation.
Been carrying my 19x with this minimalist iwb for a week now and it is just as advertised. It actually has pretty good retention considering its size I dont have to worry about it coming loose in my waistband at all. Overall very pleased.
Bought the 2nd V2 because it was on sale. Wish I had bought 3 more. The "Clip" makes all the difference. I love it! Great product! I will buy a black and grey one to complete the set to match my belts. Merry Christmas to all!
Love this holster! I have a few now for S&W & Glock and it’s my go-to rig for day-to-day carry. Picked up the coyote brown to pair with my 19x. At the current sale price ($20) it is a steal and picked up a few extras for Christmas gifts.
Nice functional trigger guard with belt hook for occasional use. It attaches well to my belt and allows a firm pull to get the weapon out while remaining clipped. Only disadvantage is the MSRP is rather high (hence 4 stars; product itself is 5 stars) so if they have it on sale it's well worth it.
