The Perun holster I bought was awesome. The gun with x300 light fits well. The holster snugs really close to the body. It is well made and seems very durable. I wish they made holster for other guns like the 1911.
Perun OWB Holster Glock with Surefire X300U
The Perun LC is our flagship outside-the-waistband (OWB), light-compatible holster. It is the result of blending the best features of two of our most popular holsters, the Eidolon and the Phantom, to create a highly refined, exceptionally concealable holster.
The Perun LC is designed to be the best light-compatible, modular OWB “pancake” style holster on the market. It has a body-hugging design that rides high for maximum concealment. The body of the holster is only slightly larger than the pistol and light contained in it. This small size aids in concealment while also making the holster more comfortable while seated in a vehicle.
The body-hugging curvature of this holster is accomplished using modular belt loops. Each holster includes three pair of 1.5” belt loops (LH 10 degree cant, RH 10 degree cant, and ambi 0 degree cant), which allow the end-user to configure the ambidextrous holster body for left-handed or right-handed use, with either a 0-degree or 10-degree cant.
Retention in the Perun is crisp, defined, and consistent, thanks to innovative design features inside the holster body. The unique retention slider makes adjusting retention as simple as turning up the volume on your stereo. And unlike other holsters that use the traditional “screw through a rubber grommet” style of retention, the Perun LC’s retention will not back off after repeated drawing and re-holstering.
The Perun is compatible with most slide-mounted red-dot optics (like the Aimpoint T-1, Trijicon RMR, etc.) and accommodates suppressor-height front sights up to .350” tall. It is also fully compatible with the RCS Balor optic mount. The Glock Perun LC is compatible with generation 3-5 Glock 9mm/.40S&W/.357Sig Glock pistols (up to Glock 34/35 length slide) with a Surefire X-300U/B weapon light attached. Also, the Surefire X-300U/A light for Gen 3 and Gen 4 firearms. For example, this holster will accommodate a Glock 19, Glock 17, or Glock 34 with the Surefire X-300U A/B weapon light mounted on it.
The muzzle-end of the holster is rounded for comfort, and has an opening sufficient to accommodate most common after-market extended and threaded barrels (with thread protectors). The opening at the muzzle is also specifically designed to allow foreign objects (like spent casings) to drop out the bottom so that nothing can block your pistol from being safely re-holstered.
The ambidextrous holster body has both inboard and outboard full-height body shields. These body shields offer some protection for your pistol from sweat, as well as protecting your skin and cover garments (especially the thin material used for linings in sport coats and suit jackets) from being abraded by the serrations on the rear of the slide. They also enhance safety by helping keep cover garments and other foreign objects from falling into the mouth of the holster while you have your pistol drawn, and aid in proper, safe muzzle orientation during re-holstering.
The holster is injection molded from a proprietary, extremely high-strength polymer blend that is significantly more durable than Kydex or Boltaron. Like all RCS products, it is made in the USA, and is backed by our lifetime warranty.
*Legacy belt attachments are NOT compatible with the Perun holster.
PLEASE NOTE: .40 S&W and .357 Sig are calibers of ammunition. This Perun will accommodate GLOCK pistols chambered in either of those two calibers. Do not order this holster thinking it will accommodate a Sig or S&W pistol, simply because those words are part of the name of a caliber. It is a GLOCK holster and will not accommodate a S&W or Sig pistol.
I ordered the Perun OWB holster that fits my Glock 19 with a surefire x300U. Shipping was very fast which was a huge plus since this holster is now my main EDC. I am a firearms instructor as well as an Army veteran. I've been through holster after holster and nothing I ever find works like I want it to. My quick rating of the holster is a 10/10 for comfort, 9/10 for concealment and the only reason for the 9 is it does sometimes show past the length of my shirt due to it being a decently large holster. That being said it conceals better than any other light bearing holster I've ever had. 10/10 for functionality/practicality this is a do it all holster that you can NOT beat for the price. 100% will be buying holsters through Raven from now on. Cheers guys.
This review is based on my experiences with a Gen 5 Glock and the Surefire X300U - B (1000 lumens, with a screw for clamping the light to the rail), since it sounds like different models will impact the level of retention. When I initially put my pistol/light combo in the holster, it was quite tight even on the lowest retention setting. Luckily, there's a parts kit with a washer and an installation tool. When that washer is installed, it holds the halves of the holster apart slightly in the area of the retention device, and eases back on the retention. Now I have the retention set in the middle of the range with the washer installed and the fit seems great. I may want to adjust the retention one way or the other as I get more experience with it, and it's great to know I have room to move in each direction. The parts kit also includes some spacers for mounting between the belt loops and the holster. As the holster comes, it stays very close to the body. If you have a tough time weaving your belt through the loops, or need more space to make the holster a little more comfortable, you can add a spacer to one or both of the belt loop attachments. My experience is limited - I've really only worn this holster for a full day, but I didn't feel uncomfortable without adding any spacers. I may experiment in time and see if I like it more in another configuration. I know some people do not like the twin sweat guards, but I assume they are trying to reholster from above and getting hung up on the outside guard. I like to holster from the front, and once the gun is funneled through the sweat guards, I holster. I do see some complaints in other reviews about how big the holster is, but it's not any bigger than it needs to be. I doubt you'll find a more concealable OWB holster for the X300U attached to a Glock. That particular light is obviously pretty sizeable, but as long as your shirt or jacket is long enough it can be concealed without issue. This seems like a really well thought out holster, the price is fantastic, and I really like it. I have the non-light bearing Perun holster as well and think it is great too.
First off, finding a holster pre-made with everything I wanted was insanely cool! Now in regards to the holster, this thing has amazing retention. It will not fall out, super positive click and secure. Secondly, it's super low profile and canted design allows you to throw a flannel shirt over and conceal a G34. In any case, save yourself 60+ dollars and get yourself this holster. You won't be disappointed.
The holster works OK. It does hold the gun securely. It is quite large and too big to conceal. The outside sweatguard makes holstering a pain in the neck. It is inexpensive, but it feels cheap.
It's not a bad holster. I carry an X300U on my duty gun. I purchased the holster thinking I can use it at work in a special assignment role. It was a little bigger then I thought. I fit like all of my other Perun holsters, but it sticks out at the bottom of my t-shirt. It was hard to get used to. It felt a little bulky at times. I know a Surefire X300U is a big light and I do not mind carrying it on my duty weapon. I do not think I will be carrying an X300U as a daily carry. I do like the way the holster grabs on to the bezel of the light. Most light barring holster grab onto the whole light. It fits close the body like the other Perun holsters. I have a feeling most holster that supports an X300U will be big and bulky. Not a bad holster. A little too big for me.
The holster is reasonably well thought out, however it’s as sharp as a knife. I wish they would have deburred the edges. It would have been perfect.
