holster is very well made and looks awesome. Main problem is it is too tight. I had a very hard time taking the gun out even after taking the adjustment screw all the way out. and after about 10 tries to try and "break it in" it is now leaving marks on my TLR8. I took a dremel and shaved off the part that is holding the gun and light in. It is now sliding out better Editor's Note: The TLR8G light appears to have a tight fit with this Perun holster. Our design team is looking into the issue.
Perun OWB Holster Glock 19 with TLR7/8
Will accommodate the Glock 19, 19x.23,26,32,44,and 45 with the TLR7, TLR7A or TLR8. The washer in the hardware kit, should be placed between the holster halves, under the retention screw, when using with TLR8.
The Perun LC is our flagship outside-the-waistband (OWB), light-compatible holster. It is the result of blending the best features of two of our most popular holsters, the Eidolon and the Phantom, to create a highly refined, exceptionally concealable holster.
The Perun LC is designed to be the best light-compatible, modular OWB “pancake” style holster on the market. It has a body-hugging design that rides high for maximum concealment. The body of the holster is only slightly larger than the pistol and light contained in it. This small size aids in concealment while also making the holster more comfortable while seated in a vehicle.
The body-hugging curvature of this holster is accomplished using modular belt loops. Each holster includes three pair of 1.5” belt loops (LH 10 degree cant, RH 10 degree cant, and ambi 0 degree cant), which allow the end-user to configure the ambidextrous holster body for left-handed or right-handed use, with either a 0-degree or 10-degree cant.
Retention in the Perun is crisp, defined, and consistent, thanks to innovative design features inside the holster body. The unique retention slider makes adjusting retention as simple as turning up the volume on your stereo. And unlike other holsters that use the traditional “screw through a rubber grommet” style of retention, the Perun LC’s retention will not back off after repeated drawing and re-holstering.
The Perun is compatible with most slide-mounted red-dot optics (like the Aimpoint T-1, Trijicon RMR, etc.) and accommodates suppressor-height front sights up to .350” tall. It is also fully compatible with the RCS Balor optic mount. The Glock Perun LC is compatible with generation 3-5 Glock 9mm/.40S&W/.357 Compact Glock pistols with a Streamlight TLR-7/8 weapon light attached. For example, this holster will accommodate a Glock 19, with the Streamlight TLR-7/8 weapon light mounted on it. (Optimized for Glock Gen 5, will also accommodate Gen 3 & Gen 4.)
The muzzle-end of the holster is rounded for comfort, and has an opening sufficient to accommodate most common after-market extended and threaded barrels (with thread protectors). The opening at the muzzle is also specifically designed to allow foreign objects (like spent casings) to drop out the bottom so that nothing can block your pistol from being safely re-holstered.
The ambidextrous holster body has both inboard and outboard full-height body shields. These body shields offer some protection for your pistol from sweat, as well as protecting your skin and cover garments (especially the thin material used for linings in sport coats and suit jackets) from being abraded by the serrations on the rear of the slide. They also enhance safety by helping keep cover garments and other foreign objects from falling into the mouth of the holster while you have your pistol drawn, and aid in proper, safe muzzle orientation during re-holstering.
The holster is injection molded from a proprietary, extremely high-strength polymer blend that is significantly more durable than Kydex or Boltaron. Like all RCS products, it is made in the USA, and is backed by our lifetime warranty.
PLEASE NOTE: .40 S&W and .357 Sig are calibers of ammunition. This Perun will accommodate GLOCK pistols chambered in either of those two calibers. Do not order this holster thinking it will accommodate a Sig or S&W pistol, simply because those words are part of the name of a caliber. It is a GLOCK holster and will not accommodate a S&W or Sig pistol.
First of all, I want to say I love this holster but I have two things I want to say about it.. 1. The retention is so tight with the Streamlight TLC-8AG (Laser and the high switch) that I had to damn near stand on it to get my pistol back.. 2. After looking at the marking on my light I decided to use a dremel tool to take down the notches that hold the gun/light combo in.. I did it in stages and checked the retention at each stage, it was getting close to where you could draw without serious tension because I don’t want to trust my life to a ill fitting holster.. Then one second too long with the dremel tool and now I have a holster that’s ok with somewhat slightly loose retention.. I called Raven before I ordered and explained what combo I had and a young lady said if it was too tight I could return it but I could see where the problem was and it was an easy fix.. 3. Now that I know how much to remove, I’m trying to decide if I should buy another one or wait and see if Raven will make one that will work without modifications for the Glock Gen5/TLR-8AG combo.. Just my two cents but it is a nice holster if it works for your gun/light combo...
As always, Raven knocks it out of the park again.
great holster, good fit, low profile and the adjustable retention is spot on. I like it a lot and have been using it almost daily.
I have a Glock 19, Gen. 3 with a TLR-8AG. I had to install the tension washer between the holster halves and adjust the tension screw to the minimum amount to be able to get the weapon out of the holster. Apparently the TLR-8A is of a larger size than previous versions of the TLR lights. After working the gun in and out several dozen times it appears now to have a decent draw that’s not too tight. Based on marks left on the laser/light the problem with the tight draw appears in part to be that the right side of light is rubbing against a molded fin on inside right lower portion of the holster. Smoothing this fin with a little bit of sandpaper may further help with the tight retention but I’m going to forego that for now as I believe that breaking the holster in with repeated use will alleviate the last little bit to tightness while drawing the weapon. All in all I’m happy with the holster. once I got it adjusted. The instructions were pretty straightforward and installing the tension washer wasn’t difficult.
Just got the holster a few days ago. I work in the firearms industry and have carried concealed for the better part of 20 years in iwb holsters. The build quality is very good. The packaging included instructions, spare parts, and alternative attachments. Great design overall. I especially like the raven design molded in the body of the holster. Retention is adjustable. I have mine on the lowest setting and my pistol and light won't fall out when lightly shaken upside down or pressed from odd angles when worn on my hip. This is my first Raven Concealment holster. I needed a hip concealment holster for farm chores because I didn't always find hard manual labor comfortable with my iwb appendix holster. I chose this one because it was ready to ship and n a good price-point for a light bearing holster. Now that I have it, this holster is a great price point for all you get. I give it 4.95 stars as a concealment holster. It pulls in tight to the body. It is as good as the best concealment own holsters i have tried. The only things I would consider changing is to open the muzzle area to fit a compensated pistol or a longer slide version and relieve the outside sweat guard for a little easier reholstering. Note I said "consider." While the muzzle is open enough that a spent casing can fall thru, it still offers muzzle protection from much of the hazards of my chore work. The same for the outside full sweat guard. For me this holster is perfect. I would very strongly encourage someone to buy this holster if owb is their style of carry. Thank you Raven Concealment for a high quality product at a great price!
Was using it on Glock 32 with TLR-7 for a long time with no issues. Using same holster on Glock 45 with TLR-7A (low switch) and Trijicon RMR. Still works great! I gave my non LC Perun to a coworker.
The problem with this holster is the way it holds my gun even with unscrewing the retention screw it holds onto my glock and wont let it go without a ton of force. Bad design and very dissatisfied as it can cost you your life if you need to draw. Editor's Note: Daniel we would be more than happy to help you with your retention problem. Please contact our customer service department at firstname.lastname@example.org This holster is currently in use with the US Secret Service Department with no issues.
Excellent holster overall. Have had it for a couple months and I like that it fits snug to my body and is not at all bulky making it easy to conceal with just a shirt over it. It fits the Streamlight TLR-7A Flex which has a different switch than the TLR-7. Hopefully it will become available in other color options. I would recommend this holster.
amazing holster! gun fits tight and holster snugs to side.
